In this episode, we chat with reality star and social media influencer Heather Martin about her experience on The Bachelor, her first kiss at age 22, the opportunities and obstacles of being watched on television and dealing with social media, and her perspective on dating before and after The Bachelor. [3:15] Shooting the Show “For the most part, it’s kind of like what I expected, and I think maybe I had to be a little too lightheartedly.” [12:06] First Kiss “I really wasn’t gonna give myself to someone or like really want to enter into that process unless I actually thought it was gonna be something, you know, more long-term.” [16:24] Dating as a Christian “I think that’s why I have been so protective of my heart; I know what I’m looking for… There’s not a surplus of those type of men out there, so I think, I always just kind of saved that for whoever that person’s gonna be.” [18:13] Culture shock “I think the negative comments, and all these things were definitely the negative part of the show. It wasn’t crazy but it definitely affects you, as much as you don’t want it to or you say it won’t, it does.” [22:05] Shifting to Social Media “I still feel like I’m in the process of learning social media because it’s just so not natural to me… I still feel like a baby trying to learn.” [26:37] Confusing Identities “Well that’s super confusing, having people view you in one way, and then expect you to be that way.” [32:27] Transitioning as an Influencer “It’s kind of what I’m doing full time now which has been fun, different, hard, and weird, but also like amazing in so many different ways.” [41:00] Influencer life “It was never my dream, that’s for sure, but now I’m like ‘this is my dream’, which is awesome… I definitely feel there’s a purpose behind it.” [44:29] After the Show “I think the biggest thing that I’ve learned from the show is to be bold… I think that’s been something I’ve always wanted to be, but I always had these fears.” [54:52] The Type “I really do not have a physical type at all… I really like confident and funny.” Follow Heather on instagram @heatherm22 Please download, rate & review this episode and share it with friends!
